When you are holding a cup of coffee, the weight of the cup is supported by the hand, which is connected to the arm, which is supported by the shoulder. If you are standing, muscles hold the shoulder to the spine, which is grounded to the hips, which are supported by the feet. Posture and body motion follow a kinetic chain.“The foot bone’s connected to the leg bone...The leg bone’s connected to the knee bone......The knee bone’s connect to the hip bone....and so on..."
So,when something is injured or habitually moves in ways which stress the body, things break down. Stressed muscles and strained joints may not hurt right away, but over time the results are predictable.
